What is Play Zoodoku?

Play Zoodoku is a free browser-based animal logic puzzle built around a new five-level Daily set. Each board asks you to place animals by combining row, column, colored-region, and no-touch constraints. The game uses animal pieces instead of numbers, so it plays more like a Queens-style spatial deduction puzzle than traditional Sudoku.

Each Daily set begins with smaller 5×5 boards and progresses through 6×6 boards to a 7×7 final level. The levels unlock in sequence, and every generated board is checked for one valid arrangement before it is shown.

How to play Play Zoodoku

Every puzzle follows four rules:

• Place exactly one animal in every row.
• Place exactly one animal in every column.
• Place exactly one animal in every colored region.
• Do not let animals touch, including diagonally.

Use these constraints together to eliminate impossible squares. A confirmed animal rules out the other cells in its row and column, while the no-touch rule also removes all eight neighboring cells. Small or irregular colored regions can provide useful starting points because they leave fewer legal positions.

Daily levels and puzzle progress

The homepage provides five fresh levels each day. Players start at level one and unlock the next board after completing the current puzzle. A timer and move counter track the active attempt, while local progress keeps the current Daily set available on the same device.

Board sizes increase across the set, creating longer deduction chains without changing the core rules. This makes the first levels suitable for learning the mechanics and the later levels a more involved daily challenge.

Board controls and solving help

• Mark a square with an X when logic rules it out.
• Place an animal when only one legal position remains.
• Use Undo to reverse the most recent action.
• Use Restart to clear the current board and try again.
• Request a Hint to reveal a valid next animal when stuck.
• Review highlighted conflicts when a placement breaks a row, column, region, or adjacency rule.

The responsive board supports phones, tablets, and desktop browsers, so the same Daily set can be played with touch or pointer controls.
