How PickApps collects, uses, stores, and shares information.

Last updated: 2026-08-07

Overview

PickApps is a directory for discovering and submitting apps, AI tools, software, browser games, and utilities. We also provide browser-based tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use PickApps, we may collect:

  • Account information: your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider identifiers, session information, and security records. If you sign in with Google, Google provides the account information you authorize it to share.
  • Submission and listing information: product names, URLs, descriptions, categories, tags, logos, cover images, badge confirmations, and other content you submit. Information published in a directory listing is public.
  • Order and payment information: the purchased package, amount, currency, order and payment provider identifiers, payment status, and related records. Stripe processes payment card details. PickApps does not intentionally store full card numbers or card security codes on its own servers.
  • Communications: messages, attachments, and other information you send when contacting support or making a privacy, rights, or refund request.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps, interactions, approximate location derived from network information, security events, and diagnostic data. Analytics services may also collect session and interaction data as described below.
  • Browser storage: authentication cookies, security data, interface preferences, checkout continuity information, and form drafts stored in cookies or local storage.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Authenticate users and operate accounts.
  • Receive, review, publish, categorize, correct, and remove directory listings.
  • Process orders and deliver priority review or sponsorship benefits.
  • Operate browser tools and other site features.
  • Respond to support, privacy, rights, and refund requests.
  • Secure PickApps, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our policies.
  • Measure site performance and understand how PickApps is used.
  • Maintain records and comply with legal obligations.

Local Processing and Uploaded Media

When a browser tool expressly states that a selected file is processed locally, that processing occurs on your device and PickApps does not upload the file to its servers as part of that tool. This does not apply to files you deliberately upload for a directory submission or another feature that clearly requires an upload.

Logos, cover images, and other media uploaded for a directory listing are stored so we can review, publish, and deliver the listing. Published listing media may be publicly accessible through PickApps or its content-delivery infrastructure.

Service Providers

We use service providers to operate PickApps. Current providers include:

  • Google for account authentication and Google Analytics.
  • Stripe for payment processing.
  • Cloudflare for hosting, database, storage, content delivery, security, and related infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Clarity for usage analytics and interaction insights.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We share information with them only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, analyze, or support PickApps. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, PickApps, or third parties.

Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

PickApps uses cookies and similar browser technologies for authentication, security, preferences, checkout continuity, and site operation. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may use cookies or comparable technologies to collect usage and interaction information.

You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent account, checkout, or other site features from working correctly. Browser privacy controls may also affect analytics collection.

Legal Bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide requested services or take steps at your request, pursue legitimate interests such as operating and securing PickApps, comply with legal obligations, or act with your consent. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Retention and Security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information and may include the time needed to maintain an account or listing, deliver purchased benefits, keep accounting and fraud-prevention records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and encryption where appropriate. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

International Processing

PickApps and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or an objection to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or request a copy of certain information.

To make a request, email support@pickapps.org. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may be retained where required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Children

PickApps is not directed to children who are not legally able to consent to the processing of their information or enter into these Terms. If you believe a child has provided personal information without required authorization, contact us.

Changes

We may update this policy as PickApps, our providers, or legal requirements change. The updated date shown above identifies the current version.
