What is country draw vercel app?

country draw vercel app is a browser geography game that asks you to recreate a country's outline from memory. Each round names a randomly selected country and gives you a blank drawing area instead of a map, silhouette, or multiple-choice clue. You have 30 seconds to sketch the border, then the app compares your attempt with its stored reference outline and returns visual feedback.

The game currently includes 39 countries from different regions, including Poland, Italy, Japan, India, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and the United States. A new round avoids immediately repeating the country from the previous round.

How a country drawing round works

  1. Press Start to receive a country name and begin the 30-second timer.
  2. Draw the country's outline in one or more strokes on the blank canvas.
  3. Use Undo to remove the latest completed stroke or Clear to erase the attempt.
  4. Press Done when the outline is ready. If time reaches zero first, the game scores the drawing automatically.
  5. Review the reference shape, your sampled points, the accuracy score, and the color-coded deviation lines before choosing Play again.

How the shape comparison is scored

The app normalizes the drawing and reference outline before comparing them, so the result focuses on the shape and proportions rather than where the sketch was placed or how large it was drawn. It measures nearest-point distances in both directions and combines average distance with root-mean-square distance. That combined deviation is converted into a score from 0 to 100.

The result screen also reports average deviation as a percentage. A lower deviation means the submitted outline stayed closer to the reference boundary. Performance labels range from “What is that” and “Abstract” at the lower end through “Recognizable,” “Not bad,” and “Cartographer” for higher scores.

Reading the result visualization

  • The light gray path shows the reference country outline.
  • Black points and lines show the submitted drawing.
  • Red connectors mark sampled points that fall outside the country outline.
  • Blue connectors mark sampled points that fall inside the country outline.

This makes the result more informative than a score alone: players can see which coasts, borders, peninsulas, or proportions were drawn too far outward and which sections stopped short of the real shape.

What makes this geography game useful

country draw vercel app tests recall rather than recognition. Instead of identifying a familiar silhouette, players must reconstruct it from memory and then inspect exactly where it differs from the reference. The short round format works for quick geography practice, repeat attempts, or informal score challenges, and the game runs directly in the browser without an account flow or download.
