What is こえはかる?

こえはかる is a browser-based voice-impression checker for Japanese-speaking users. After you read a short story aloud, the app analyzes the recording and estimates how the voice is perceived across masculine and feminine dimensions. It also shows an age-related impression of the voice.

What does こえはかる measure?

The analysis uses two kinds of acoustic information:

• Fundamental frequency, or F0, which represents the basic pitch of the voice
• Formants, which describe resonances created as sound moves through the vocal tract

The app combines these signals to produce a reference value for vocal impression. It can also indicate the possibility of falsetto in the recording.

How to use こえはかる?

1. Open the app in a browser that can access a microphone.
2. Read the short passage shown by the app.
3. Record your voice for up to two minutes in a quiet place.
4. Review the masculine/feminine impression, estimated voice age, and acoustic analysis results.

Privacy and limitations

The site states that recorded audio is used only for analysis and is not stored on its server. Analysis results are reference values based on acoustic features, not a medical diagnosis or an objective measure of identity, gender, or age. Use the tool for experimentation and entertainment rather than making health or personal decisions.
