What is Overtune?

Overtune is a beat-making and music arrangement platform for singers, rappers, songwriters, and other recording artists. Its sequencer lets users combine professionally produced loops into an instrumental, change the arrangement, key, and tempo, then export the result for vocals, mixing, mastering, or release.

How to make a beat with Overtune

Choose a Beat Pack

Start with a Beat Pack, a set of four-bar instrument loops designed to work together around a genre, mood, or musical style. Overtune also allows compatible loops from different packs to be mixed in the web version.

Arrange the track

Select the instruments and loops, organize them in the sequencer, and adjust the key and BPM to fit the intended song. Projects can be saved before export.

Export for the next production stage

PRO users can download a finished master or separate WAV stems. The files can be used for recording vocals, shared with a collaborator, or taken into a DAW or studio workflow.

Overtune sounds and licensing

Overtune's loops are made by producers and are royalty-free but non-exclusive, so other creators may use the same source loops. Commercial use is allowed under the license, and licenses for downloaded loops remain valid after a subscription is cancelled.

Overtune Free and PRO access

Free access includes most loops, key and BPM changes, and saved projects. PRO is required to export audio files and receive the distribution license; it also unlocks the complete library and unlimited access to the available features. Overtune is available as a web app, an iOS app, and a desktop app through MuseHub, although account syncing is not supported across every version.
